Chassier a temperate region
The locality of Chassiers spans across
the area of the lower Cévènes and is situated 1 km from the sub-prefecture of Largentière.
It is 5 km off the road from Aubenas to Alès which also crosses Montelimar, Aubenas, le Puy and Clermont 20km away. The Rhone valley is an hour's drive. The Chassier landscape is comprised of hills of relative height (les 'serres') from 200m for the Val de Lende to 608m for the Ranc Courbier… any hickers?
Chassier is situates in a zone of temperate Mediterranean climate, which, with its rich soil favours the growth of vines and other fruit trees alongside chestnut and olive trees. |
